A sustainable conference venue - Graf-Zeppelin-Haus
We live and work in an ecologically unique region. The Culture and Convention Center Graf-Zeppelin-Haus is located directly on Lake Constance. The lake, bordering onto Austria and Switzerland, is used as a drinking water reservoir for millions of people. It is also an international holiday region as well as a popular destination for national and international customers.
We are aware of our ecological environment and take responsibility in our work accordingly. This applies to topics such as emission protection, energy-saving measures as well as the social impact. We think and act holistic.
Ecological aspects – making use of natural resources
With Lake Constance right on the doorstep there is a huge energy reservoir which we carefully make use of. We are using the lake water for heating and cooling our building with the help of heat pumps and cooling units. This way we are replacing fossil energy sources and contribute to a sustainable use of our dwindling resources.
Up to 30% of our energy consumption is generated from the warmth of the lake.
Our central situation reduces transport, 1,000 hotel beds are available within walking distance.
Regional gastronomy. Our region offers culinary specialities, fresh and local.
Careful use of our resources
Intelligent monitoring systems help with an efficient use of energy and resources. The consequent application in nearly all areas of our building provides a better eco-balance, saves cost and therefore public money.
Flexible energy-saving programme by switching from gas to oil in times of maximum consumption.
Sophisticated lighting and ventilation monitoring in the underground garage, e.g. every second lamp on the drive is individually controllable.
Motion-sensitive lighting and conversion to state-of-the-art LED systems.
Happy employees = happy customers
Up to 100 dedicated employees look after about 300,000 visitors a year. Within our company philosophy the sector “maintenance of assets and securing jobs“ has top priority. Our visitors are welcomed by people who love their job. Our employees are taken seriously at work and we value their opinion. Regular training provides a high level of expertise. An important part of our customer commitment.
Staff health and safety. We offer our staff a sport programme as well as relaxing rooms.
Safety is also an important issue for us, an in-house evacuation concept provides fast evacuation in an emergency.
Keep at it – a comprehensive training and seminar programme keeps our employees up to date.
Our facility is accessible for the disabled, whether an induction loop system for people with hearing impairments or barrier-free access to all levels and rooms in the building – accessibility is part of our concept.
